HOUSE RETURNS TO FAMILIAR TERRITORY ON AN ALL-NEW "HOUSE" MONDAY, OCTOBER 10, ON FOX

Charlyne Yi (“Paper Heart”) Joins Cast as Series Regular

A surprising visitor makes House an offer he can't refuse by giving him the opportunity to help the Princeton Plainsboro team treat a unique patient in order to save the life of an organ recipient being treated by Wilson. Although House finds himself back on familiar ground, he quickly realizes that much has changed since he left, and he is forced to work on the case with smart yet timid resident Dr. Chi Park (Charlyne Yi). After several inconclusive treatments and with time running out, House and Dr. Park are left with one last option to examine the patient's medical history that could compromise House's conditional agreement with the hospital. Meanwhile, House makes an effort to reconnect with Wilson despite a cold reception in the all-new "Transplant" episode of HOUSE airing Monday, Oct. 10 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (HOU-802) (TV-14 D, L, V)
Timeline
Two months after the last episode when eight more months were added onto his sentence two months ago.
Patient of the Week
Wilson has a patient who needs a double lung transplant but the donor's lungs have problems with airway resistance. House's job is to make the lungs work so they can be transplanted in the patient.
How House gets involved:
Foreman gets House out of prison to work his genius on the problem of the lungs.
Preliminary diagnoses:
House thinks the donor (a young college student) might have used cocaine so he and Dr. Park, his new assistant/team, go to the home of his parents to check out his room. House does find a new pair of glasses and finds out the young man had headaches so House jumps to a brain tumor conclusion. House goes to investigate the corpse and finds what he thinks is a tumor/rhabdomyosarcoma. But it turns out to be from intravenous plasma so then House sends out Wilson and his new assistant to investigate the donors to the plasma. All leads fizzle.
The final diagnosis
The young man had eosinophilic pneumonitis and the poker game he played the night he died, in closed room with cigar smoke, caused his lungs to shut down and that was what killed him when he drove his motorcycle home.
Who came up with final diagnosis
House and since there was a rush to save Wilson's patient, he directs Dr. Park to do radiation on the lungs and that cures them so they can be transplanted to save the patient.
Clinic Patients
None.
Additional Information:
  • Foreman is the new Dean of Medicine (taking Cuddy's place) and he tells House that Chase, Taub and Thirteen have all "moved on" in the year House has been away.
  • At the end, Dr. Park is so impressed with what House did that she tells Foreman she is staying. This means a hearing since the reason she was available to work with House was that she punched her supervisor when he touched her behind.

Quotes, Quotations, Dialogue, Scenes:
  • House pushes Wilson not to allow his patient to give up. So, when Wilson succeeds in making his patient agree to a painful procedure, he goes to House to tell him (see top image), "You were right to push me. I needed that"
       "So, we're good?"
"It was good advice. I just came here to say thank you."
As Wilson walks away, House tells him, "I like you. I have fun with you. And if you can honestly say that you don't like me, you don't have fun with me, I can accept that. But just do whatever you have to do to get over this. Punch me in the face, kick me in the nuts." He pauses for a moment. "Either/or. Both seems excessive."
"The thing is, House, I don't like you."
