Ahem.
I'll climb down off the ceiling now. (I have to take the mistletoe down anyway.)
To the point: In the belated WGAW inspired Christmas episode on January Late, House received a First Edition of the Works of Conan Doyle from his Secret Santa. You really have to see the episode "A Wonderful Lie" for all of the levels of that comment to pan out but suffice to say, he got the book.
Whee!

Your blog almost made me cry for happiness. As a young teen I fell hard for Sherlock Holmes. Now 40 years later I reread A Scandal in Bohemia last night. What do you think about THE woman (patient) in Frozen and Irene Adler? How neat to find your blog! I am so excited about rereading and re-watching Holmes and House. Thank you for igniting an old passion!
Ah, it is that obvious after all. I don't watch TV. But a friend loaned me the first and second season DVDs of House to watch. Within two or three episodes I noticed House had an addiction, played a musical instrument, had a side kick named Dr. WilSON, lived by himself, etc., etc. I thought, "Egads! Sherlock Holmes!" Thanks for the verification!
What's a synonym for House? Home -- Holmes.
Did you catch the mention of Irene Adler when Wilson is telling the team about where House got the book from his secret santa?
So who is Irene Adler? Is that Lisa Cuddy? Maybe Amber? No, Amber must be Mary...
Have you considered Ellery Queen's "Great E-O Theory"? It almost fits. "shErlOck hOlmEs," "nErO wOlfE," "grEgOry hOusE." Each has the same vowel pattern, except that House's last name has an extra "u."
